Chavis to Dix Strollway - Funded!

Oaks and Spokes is excited to announce that the City of Raleigh has secured $3 million in federal funding to help complete the Chavis to Dix Park Strollway and Heritage Walk. Thank you specifically to Congresswoman Deborah Ross’s office for their support in working to secure this funding. In the fall of 2021, Oaks and Spokes was a partner on the “Stroll in the Streets” open streets event. Stroll in the Streets helped our community to envision what this corridor could look like as a more activated and people powered space. We believe everyone in our community should have access to transportation options, and this link will provide a critical connection for all ages and abilities to safely travel between these parks and to and through Downtown Raleigh.

Oaks and Spokes supported the City of Raleigh’s federal application for funding. We will continue to work closely with the City to identify next steps for community engagement and communication.

As construction dates and next steps are announced, Oaks and Spokes will be sure to keep the community up to date. Sign-up our e-newsletter for additional announcements, events and other upcoming information.
