Jared Haber is an avid and dedicated cyclist who passionately advocates for Raleigh's vibrant bike community. In his role as the co-founder of Oak City Cycling, an independent bike retailer established in 2011, Jared has consistently demonstrated his commitment to promoting cycling. His involvement in co-planning the organization's inaugural bike festivals showcases his ability to create engaging and inclusive events. Moreover, Jared has organized numerous community rides and bicycle events, providing invaluable support to countless Raleigh residents on their cycling journeys. Recognizing his dedication to cycling advocacy, Jared was honored with the Clay Mankin Award from Quality Bicycle Products in 2016. Now assuming the position of Executive Director of Oaks and Spokes, Jared feels deeply honored to continue his mission of promoting cycling as a fun and sustainable form of transportation. Drawing upon his extensive background in the bicycle industry and familiarity with Raleigh's bike scene, Jared is poised to expand Oaks and Spokes' reach to an even broader audience. By collaborating closely with the organization's members and board of directors, he aims to spearhead the creation of a more bike-friendly Raleigh. He firmly believes that a safer and more interconnected bicycle and pedestrian network is paramount to ensuring city vibrancy and livability. Jared strives to leave a lasting impact on the Raleigh community by fostering a culture where cycling thrives and becomes an integral part of people's lives.
