May is in full swing, and with it comes the exciting celebration of Bike Month! We have an incredible lineup of events planned just for you, so mark your calendars and get ready to pedal into a world of community-led fun and adventure.

Bicycle Book Club with So & So Books – All Month Long Immerse yourself with our Bicycle Book Club. Grab a copy of “Just Ride” by Grant Petersen from So & So Books, and join us on June 1st for a lively discussion that will inspire and deepen your love for biking.

Bikes & Brews with Downtown Raleigh Alliance – Tuesday, May 16th Start your day off right with a delightful combination of bikes and brews at Exchange Plaza in Downtown Raleigh. From 10am to 12pm, indulge in the perfect pairing of invigorating coffee and the camaraderie of fellow cyclists.

Bike Webinar through Commute Smart Raleigh – Tuesday, May 16th Expand your knowledge and learn valuable insights about biking during our engaging Bike Webinar. Hosted by Commute Smart Raleigh, this virtual event is a must-attend for all biking enthusiasts. Simply search “RaleighNC.gov Bike Month” for more details.

Raleigh Brewing Team on Draft – Tuesday, May 16th Meet the incredible Raleigh Brewing Team at Raleigh Brewing Company on Neil St from 6pm to 9pm. Connect with like-minded cyclists, share thrilling stories, and savor refreshing post-ride drinks. It’s the perfect way to unwind mid-week.

Ride of Silence with Bike Durham – Wednesday, May 17th Join Bike Durham for the solemn and powerful Ride of Silence, taking place at CCB Plaza/Main Plaza in Downtown Durham from 5:30pm to 7pm. Together, we will honor fallen cyclists and raise awareness about bike safety, creating a safer and more supportive biking community.

Third Thursday Cruiser Ride with Oak City Cycling – Thursday, May 18th Embrace the leisurely side of biking with the Third Thursday Cruiser Ride. Starting at 7pm, join Oak City Cycling for a delightful journey through the charming streets of Raleigh, savoring the sights and sounds of our vibrant city.

Bike To Work Day – Friday, May 19th Ditch the traffic and hop on your bike for Bike To Work Day! Join us at Bandwidth on Centennial Campus between 7am and 10am, where we’ll provide energizing snacks, special perks, and an atmosphere of celebration. Check RaleighNC.gov for a complete list of participating pit-stops along your route.

Bike FROM Work Day with Oak City Cycling – Friday, May 19th After a productive day at work, head over to Oak City Cycling from 5pm to 7pm to continue the Bike Month festivities. Indulge in enticing drink specials, share your commuting stories, and perhaps engage in some friendly competition with a round of Nintendo. It’s a fantastic way to wind down and connect with fellow cyclists.

No Kit Club Ride at Yellow Dog Bread Company – Saturday, May 20th Everyone is welcome at the No Kit Club Ride! Join us at Yellow Dog Bread Company from 9am to 12pm for a spirited group ride. This inclusive event is open to individuals who identify as Womxn, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and WTF (Women, Trans, Femme). Let’s come together, create lasting connections, and revel in the joy of biking.

Light Up The Night with Crankarm Brewing – Wednesday, May 24th Prepare for an enchanting adventure as we embark on the Light Up The Night event with Crankarm Brewing on Wednesday, May 24th. From 8pm to 10pm, join us for a captivating night ride that will illuminate the streets and create a magical atmosphere. Bring your brightest lights and let’s turn the darkness into a vibrant celebration of cycling.

Sweet Summertime Alleycat with Raleigh Criterium – Friday, May 26th Looking for an exhilarating challenge? Join us on Friday, May 26th, for the Sweet Summertime Alleycat with Raleigh Criterium. This evening scavenger hunt will put your biking skills to the test as you navigate the city streets, capturing memories along the way. Gather your friends, grab your bike, and be prepared for a thrilling adventure under the starry sky.
