Join the Oaks & Spokes Board!

Are you interested in contributing to the leadership of Oaks & Spokes while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit management? This January, Oaks & Spokes members will elect 6 new members to the board. We are seeking volunteers and nominations for the positions below now through December 17, 2018. Administrative Coordinator

This position plays a vital role in keeping the Board organized and on track. The person in this positions manages the organization’s resources, maintains records, and takes minutes at the Board meetings. 

Advocacy Coordinator

If you are passionate about bicycling community, engagement, infrastructure, and policy, this is the position for you! The Advocacy Coordinator organizes the engagement of the board and membership around priority issues, and builds partnerships with other organizations.

2 At-large Coordinators

This particular role is open-ended with the opportunity to bring new ideas to the table and contribute your talents in any way you choose to apply them. For the past two years this role involved a strong focus on graphic design, event coordination, and program conception and development. This included creating promotional materials/campaigns, strategic event planning such as Cranksgiving and Community Open Houses, and the beginnings of the Bike Buddy Program to help connect neighborhoods by bike.

External Coordinator

This position, also known as the President of the Board, serves as the spokesperson for the organization and provides overall leadership and direction. Additionally, this person is responsible for setting and facilitating board meetings. 

Membership Coordinator

If you’re interested in gaining valuable experience in database management and communication, then consider running for Membership Coordinator. This position maintains the membership database and coordinates direct communication with members. Additionally, this person plans the annual Membership Party and thinks of new ways to engage and benefit the community.
