2017 Bike Art Show–Call for Artists

2017 Bike Art Show–Call for Artists

Oaks and Spokes will be hosting the 5th annual Raleigh Bikes Art Show as a part of this year’s Oaks and Spokes Bicycle Festival.  The show will be on display through the month of May, with an opening reception on Friday, May 5th, at Morning Times (10 E. Hargett Street in Downtown Raleigh).

We are accepting submissions from artists for the show until April 17th.  Any bicycle related work is eligible for submission. Paintings, photos, sculptures, used bike part sculptures, mixed media, sketches, prints, and crafts are examples of previously accepted media. We will accept large pieces, including full bicycles, but display of such items may be limited to the evening reception, and acceptance of such works may be limited based on space available at Morning Times.  Additional space for larger works will be available at Kings Barcade (14 W. Martin Street in Downtown Raleigh) the night of May 7th in collaboration with 7-Stories.

To submit a work for the show, please email a high resolution photo and the details of your work (media, dimensions, and price, if you wish to sell) to bikeart@oaksandspokes.com. There is no submission fee.  Artists whose work is selected for the show will be notified by Friday, April 21st.

Oaks and Spokes looks forward to hosting the event and displaying a variety of works that highlight cycling culture.  Anyone with questions should contact Bike Art Show via email, listed above.

Thank you for riding your bike!
