2017 Oaks & Spokes Bicycle Festival

Festival Event Line Up

*All our events are family friendly and suitable for all ages and abilities. While they are bike themed, many of the events do not require participants to bring or ride a bike. Events that do involve riding a bike are “ride at your own risk” and wearing helmets is strongly suggested.*

Participants needed for Bike Fashion Show!

Calling all fashionistas! We are still seeking individuals to ride the runway for the Bike Fashion Show on Friday May 12th, part of this year’s annual Oaks and Spokes Bicycle Festival.

In the public eye, cycling is associated with tight, garish Lycra clothing. While such kit has its place on sporty club rides, savvy urban cyclists know it is entirely possible to look good both on and off the bike. This event will showcase fashion forward looks for the everyday cyclist, demonstrating one can be comfortable on the ride and stylish at the destination.

Entrants for this show will model an outfit of their choice that they feel best exhibits the qualities of comfort, style, and utility while on a bike.  Typical fashion shows are showcases for designers, but this show will place the emphasis on the rider, as ordinary folks show off their favorite city cycling garb. As well as individuals, we invite couples who wish to model together, and parents with children who want to show how they get around town as a family.

Interested? Please sign up here! Still have questions? Email ken@oaksandspokes.com for more details. And finally, check out the Bike Fashion Show event page on Facebook for more information and to RSVP.
